Computer crashed around 2am. When it started acting weird I decided to close all programs and scan, but it crashed before scan completed. Luckily I set it up to do a boot scan in the event that happened. It is still running the boot scan at 9 am. It has detected 2 viruses and 5 corrupted files so far and is only 61% complete.
I am so frustrated and tired!
I am not a virus genius and will not be able to repair this on my own if it's serious. Please pray my virus software can repair it for me and I will have no further issues.
Take a look at the name of the viruses and then google them. Alot of times there are tiny little programs that people make to remove them. Or you may find a way to remove them yourself.
The crashing is the hard part. The problem is that it may have caused damage to part of the computer. Try to find a way to remove them first. If you can't, post here and I'll try to help after work.
I didn't even realize you responded. I'm sorry for being late returning this response. I do appreciate your offer to help. I figured it out and was able to isolate and remove the virus. PC has been fine since.
Yes I did. I use Dropbox, SugarSync, and Google docs for documents, and I use iCloud to back up my entire PC. I'm planning on getting an external hard drive as well as an extra measure.
