It's good to hear that some of you may be able to use some of the resources listed.

Here's another source you might find useful - Snapfiles. I really like this site. It has downloads of freeware and shareware programs sorted by category with detailed info, editor and user reviews and ratings, and more. Programs are frequently added and updated.
