Default Editing PDF's
Ok the copy & print place scanned some documents into a PDF but it's not editable even by them

So I printed the pages and scanned them with my printer

Now how can I edit the text when I try with Word or even Open Office it won't let me edit

Also theres a few tables/chars & diagrams I want to edit the contents of as well

Can anyone help?

Hello,

I don't know who you are so I cannot identify you by name. If you have a moment, please do address yourself.

You can edit the pdfs using PDFescape or other free PDF editing software. Here is an article about editing PDFs online which was written in '09 so some of the links might not work unless you google them http://www.labnol.org/software/edit-pdf-files/10870/

If you google 'edit pdfs' you might also find other free options online but I know that PDF Escape works.

As for the Word documents scanned...you won't be able to edit them unless the originals you are working with are indeed Word documents.

The only scan-able document editing software I am familiar with is OCR software. There is a free trial here http://www.smartocr.com/?gclid=CK77y...FcG77Qodp1F1tA

I have not used the OCR software but you should be able to edit scanned documents.

I found the free pdf convertor by Nuance to be a great one.
It allows you to convert pdf files to word so that you can edit them.
You can find it at www.nuance.com.
Thanks to Office Goddess for helping me when I had this problem.

The PDF was created by a copy & print place and cannot be edited once formatted
I have printed & scanned the pages (over 100) but need to have it so the client can add/edit blocks of text & images

Try the OCR software I mentioned.

Did you try to edit the pdf in PDF editing software?

The only other option I can think of is to go back to the copy and print place and ask them to 'unlock' the copy.

"ScanSoft PaperPort 11" is the software I use. You can scan any document into Word so that it can be edited and saved as an actual Word document instead of a pdf. Hope this is helpful!
