Hi Everyone,

I have a client who is trying to decide between Wishlist and DAP. Do you have a preference and would you share why?

I'd also like to know how easy or complicated the user controls are on both.

I only have experience with DAP and as much as I loved it, it's not worth buying and installing.
Honestly, you buy it, get great support and all kinds of updates and add-ons but when your 6 months is up- blthhh
Granted, you can keep using it as-is but you won't have the newest version without paying the full price again.
I wasn't happy with that so I stopped using it.

I hear good things about Wishlist.

They all have a learning curve so nothing is going to be a breeze to setup and work with right off the bat.

I also wondered about a Credit Card issue for both programs.

When a customer's credit card expires or is no longer valid. Do you get notice of this or do you have to check regularly to make sure that the CC payments are going through.

When I'm doing research the two membership programs I see the most are Wishlist and aMember. Though DAP is used, I'd say it comes in third after the other two.

From my assessment Wishlist seems to be more flexible, better support and community to help with that support.

DAP handles credit cards like all the other programs. Payment is through your chosen payment processor (Paypal, etc.). If the recurring charge does not go through then the purchaser is locked out. You can set the lockout to be just new stuff (they can still sign in and access what was already paid for)and once they start paying again they will pick up where they left off (like an ongoing course) or you can lock them out of the site completely.
You decide the setting you prefer from the get-go and if payment does not go through one month, the program flags that account as locked.
