Default Desktop Travel Planning/Tracking Software
I have client who travels frequently. He would like me to arrange his travel itineraries, keep track of costs, and monitor his frequent flier accounts.

I have a system to track all of the pieces of his intricate travel puzzle but it requires the use of a few different programs. (Not as efficient as I would like.) Is there a desktop planning/tracking program that helps keep track of all these pieces?

Cheers,

Ruth Roybal, Virtual Assistant

You could use MS Project...I'm taking a class in it now and you can enter costs, durations, and print the information in different formats...

In October 2007, I received an email about a new free online travel booking booking tool called TripSync. I haven't tried it out yet, since there has been no need for me to make travel arrangements recently. However, it does look like something potentially useful. If you decide to give it a try, let us know what you think of it.

Here is the major part of the email I received:

Dear Joni,

My name is David Schachter and I am the Manager of Business Development of a company called Portaga, located in White Plains, N.Y. We’ve developed a new online travel booking tool called TripSync, specifically for designed for those who book travel for businesses.

TripSync is the perfect tool for Virtual Assistants to booking and administer business travel arrangements for their clients. Unlike the leisure booking sites such as Travelocity, Expedia and Orbitz, TripSync’s focus is on the small to medium sized business traveler and those who arrange their travel.

TripSync enables Virtual Assistants to book and manage travel for multiple businesses, from one tool. TripSync is efficient, easier to use and more economical than any other method of booking business travel.

Benefits to the Virtual Assistants:

Performance – Increased efficiency and customer satisfaction

Book & Hold – VA’s can place reservations on hold for 24hrs while getting confirmations from their, without loosing availability or pricing.

Support – 24/7 Customer Assistance for VA’s and their clients.

Outlook Integration - Client’s trips are automatically entered into the VA’s calendar as an event. They can even modify their client’s hotel and car reservations by simply dragging and dropping them in the calendar.

Administrator’s Tool – VA’s can add clients to TripSync and update their information from one easy to use tool.

Instant itinerary confirmations - Accurate travel itineraries can be instantly sent to VA’s clients.

Free Implementation – TripSync is free to use, and we don’t charge booking fees.

I am absolutely sure that using TripSync to book your client’s travel will make you more effective, save you time and increase your customer’s satisfaction.

Best regards,

David

Has anybody used this software, TripSync. If so, what do you like and what do you dislike?
Thank you,
Marlene

I found Trip Tracker from Iambic. I am able to use it as a standalone program for windows. The best part this software is the reporting capability. I make the plans and print out an itinerary to send to my client. Fabulous!!
