Default Data recovery software & Windows tools
Get Data has so many different programs available from repairing corrupted files to recovering lost Ipod data.

I have used the Repair My Word and Recover My Ipod and was very satisfied.

Hi Dawn

Thank you for sharing. I know I could have used this a couple of weeks ago when my friend lost for data on her ipod.

Hi Dawn, great to know these are out there - what did you use Repair My Word for (what does it do exactly?)

I received a message about the error path.... So what you do is download the program and then you choose to open the file and it displays it within the screen as a regular text file and you can then save it as a .rtf file I beleive. I had to retype it but at least I was able to open it and regain the data. It was a life saver for me!

When you talk about having corrupt files or losing data it makes me think about a program that came with my computer when I purchased it. It's called 'Go Back' and it sysmatically saves your computer at certain points giving you the option to virtually (ha ha) go back in time to replace your computer to a set time period. Such a 1 hour, 2 days, 1 week, etc.

I have used it in the past when things had gone wrong. I just did the Go Back and my computer was good to go. The only thing with back tracking is if you did any work in the last X amount of time it would be lost. But you save these files as a back up first.

Yes I guess for system issues as a last resort that would be something I would do as well. I have system restore which I beleive is similar to go back on my computers.
