Do any of you know of a good software out there for closed captioning? I've been reviewing a few -- but wondered if anyone has had any experience with this.

I found some information for what I'm looking for -- and as a note, this is for offline captioning. Has anyone heard or used and liked any of these:
Jubler Subtitler – For PC
Subtitle Workshop (Software) – Captioning MP4,WMV video
Divx Media Subtitler

Since I'm not techie at all, the thought of downloading anything and then if it doesn't work out and I have to de-download it (is that a word?) scares me to death!

Hi Patty, thanks for posting back! I was just going to run a Google search for the same to try to help answer your post.
Glad you found what you were looking for, I'll be curious to know which you end up using and what you think of it.

BTW, you can usually easily uninstall easily from one place on your computer - for Windows machines it's in the Control Panel --> Programs and Features (unless you're on an older version of windows I think it's called Add/Remove programs - also in the CP.)

On a Mac I'm told you can just drag the app into the garbage can to uninstall, unless the app has an uninstall option then you should use that.

Thank you, Tess, for your reply. I recently had to purchase a new PC because my dearly beloved finally passed and went to computer heaven! I have been so freaked out to download anything that I haven't heard about for fear that my computer will become infected -- I know, I need to relax . . . Thank you so much for your advice.

I think that today I am going to download all three of these and play around with them. I'm meeting with someone next week who provides CART services and even though I wouldn't be providing this, she is looking for backup. So I do want to have a basic knowledge in at least the offline aspect of her business -- since it might turn into a great opportunity for me .

I will definitely keep you posted on the software. It's time for me to just bite the bullet and dive in with no fear!
