Default Can't open an .xlsx file
I didn't want to hijack the document thread, so I've started a new one.

http://www.virtualassistantforums.co...6-angela-16159

When I hover over the link it tells me it's an .xlsx file, but when I open it, it turns into a zip file full of .xml files.

I am using MS Office 2007. I've never had this issue before.

It would seem to me I have a setting issue in Excel, but I'm not sure where to start looking.

Any ideas?

Thanks

I found this method to convert the file for your 2007 Excel software.

convert xlsx files to xls

Hope that helps,

Try right clicking on the download link and choose save as.. then save it as excel file.

Should work.

That's funny - I was having the same issue (i'm also on 07), but I also have a mac so I just went there and it downloaded and opened with no problem. I saved it as a .xls, put it in Dropbox and I'm good to go!

Well, I still can't figure it out. But I downloaded it at another computer and emailed it to my business computer.

Click on the Download text & you should get a box asking to Open or Save. Click Save. Now you should get the Save File dialog box. Browse to where you want to save the file & then before clicking the Save button in this box, add the extension .xls to the end of the file name & then click save.

Excel 2007 has a new file format & saves workbooks in zip files. That's why you see all those extra files when you click save with the .zip extension.
