#1 (permalink)   03-27-2010 intercovbc Contributing Member   Join Date: Mar 2010 Posts: 65 Can't open an .xlsx file I didn't want to hijack the document thread, so I've started a new one. http://www.virtualassistantforums.co...6-angela-16159 When I hover over the link it tells me it's an .xlsx file, but when I open it, it turns into a zip file full of .xml files. I am using MS Office 2007. I've never had this issue before. It would seem to me I have a setting issue in Excel, but I'm not sure where to start looking. Any ideas? Thanks

Click Save. Now you should get the Save File dialog box. Browse to where you want to save the file & then before clicking the Save button in this box, add the extension .xls to the end of the file name & then click save. Excel 2007 has a new file format & saves workbooks in zip files.
