Default Anyone heard of Virtual Faxing?
I have been researching online about anything to do with being a VA and just what I need to start the business. I was getting ready to buy a fax machine and then I found that you can use virtual faxes! Whoopie! This is new to me. Apparently faxes sent to your phone number are automatically changes to email attachments. Some of these sites I just briefly viewed and they all seem to charge, but I was wondering if maybe there is a software to purchase? Anyone heard of this?

I use efax and it meets all of my needs. Here is a good thread you should review.

You can fax from your PC, but you still need a number for someone to fax back. If your PC is connected to your phone line via modem you should have software built in Windows to do that. You also have to keep your PC on and set options to answer after X number of rings or get a converter.

I'd rather have the online service. I can access it from anywhere in the world. There are some issues I have found, however. Some fax machines do not connect with my online service. It can be frustrating.

I just heard about Faxzero and Faxdigits and heard they are free to use. I also think I'll try to stick to an online type of fax service, so I'll check these out.

Hi yurva,

I use Packetel, its an efax. Its very cheap and you get free months for referrals. I haven't had to renew yet. Good luck finding the one that suits you best!

Our telephone company has a great feature...fax to email. You send a fax to my number and it appears as an email. I love the feature. It does cost per month. As far as sending, you can set up your printer so that you send the document to the printer and it faxes it out.

I use My Fax for receiving faxes and sending faxes that are electronic documents, but I have a fax machine for sending stuff that isn't electronic. I bought it last Fall when I needed to fax a large number of pages and didn't feel like scanning them all.
