Default HELP! What phone service to use.
Hi. I have a client that would like for me to help manage their incoming calls. How can I set this up so I know when it is a call for them and what service offers that? I have a 800 for myself but it does not distinguish who is calling.
Thanks to anyone that can help.

Hi Bonnie~

I have my own 800 number through GotVMail. I also have using Ring Central and I have an extension on their system. When a call comes in to my number, my caller ID displays my number (I can press 3 to hear the number that is calling me). When a call comes in through the RingCentral, the caller's number displays. I used to have a client on FreedomVoice (which I prefer over RingCentral for ease of use) - I don't recall whether the calls display the caller ID or the FreedomVoice number.

I hope that helps! :-)

Warmly,

Lorri

Typically, the client would pay for an 800 number service and have his phone line transferred to the 800 number, which in turn is transferred to you. When you see that 800 number on your caller ID, you know it is for that specific client. You can also set up a voice mail in case you are unable to answer the calls and it will have that client's branding. Freedom Voice, OneBox, Ring Central are just a few that offer the 800 numbers. You could also go the VOIP phone way and use Vonage (an example only). You'll need to compare costs to see which is more feasible for the client.

Do any of these services offer the ability to transfer a call back to the client if it's someone they need to speak with?
