Default Choosing a Twitter Name
As a freelancer I created an account based on my name. The tweets are mostly pr, film and hiring mixed with a little personal. The thing is, it has really grown and most followers are really supportive. I created a new account for my marketing v.a. services but should I just keep the other one with the following? I will rebuild that one from scratch but I don't want to be redundant.

Keep both, and advertise both accounts on the other one (if you understood that!).

You might get twice the following, and it will get your name out there twice as much!

Thanks. That's what I've been thinking. I just didn't know if that would seem redundant but I doubt it.

As long as you have different content on each one then I don't think it should matter.

Obviously it means double the amount of twitter work lol.

Yeah, I think the new one will be tailored more toward artist and entertainment publicity. That way I can let my personal stay with non-profits and regular PR. Thanks Alice

I agree, keep both of them because it can only help grow your business. Plus if you do like you say and gear one towards one area and the other toward the other area, you will gain more followers and that can be a great advantage. I am just getting ready to start my twitter page and hope I will be lucky with having followers because that is one thing I worried about is I will not have any followers lol...

I'm sure you will Lady. Once you start interacting with others they'll come. Join some tweet chats, you'll get easy ones there.

Be sure to schedule your tweets if possible on a platform such as Hootsuite. It seems like it would be easy to get burned out from tweeting on both accounts AND it's a way to help you stay organized with maintaining both accounts.

The general rule on Twitter is that if someone follows you, follow them back.

I suggest doing a search on Twitter for your target market - that's what I did and just followed them all lol.

Don't forget to use hashtags in your tweets - your tweets are easy to find then!

Another thing I suggest is to get a 'daily newspaper' at http://www.paper.li. It's automatically tweeted every day at a certain time. You can choose to include tweets from your feed - so often people you're following will be included in it. It's a great chance to get retweeted!
