Question What goes into a Twitter and/or Facebook Welcome Page?
Does anyone know where I can obtain a questionnaire that I can use as a informational guide (not to copy word-for-word), but to give me idea on what specifically to ask a client when creating a Twitter or Facebook Welcome page. This project will be a subcontractor situation and I'm not in the position to be asking the client several times what they may want, etc.

Any recommendations are greatly appreciated!

Great question Robin, I'm giving this a bump to see if we can inspire anyone to jump in.

I'd be really interested to know what goes into the creation of a Facebook page as well.

I don't know of a specific questionnaire that is readily available online. But you here are some resources you might find helpful to go through to get an idea of what you will want to ask the client to get the information you need for setting up a Facebook page or a Twitter account. There really are some key points to consider so that you set up a page or a Twitter account that are optimized to help them get found but also for branding purposes and as part of their overall social media plan and presence.

Build Your Presence on Facebook: Get Started in 5 Easy Steps
Facebook Pages Manual

If you go through these guides, then you will get an idea of what information you need to set up a Facebook page.

Here is a post that just came out today on CopyBlogger that includes tons of Twitter resources- The Ultimate Guide to Twitter Marketing. It's total information overload, but the first section on Setting Up a Twitter Account will likely have some info and resources you'll find helpful. The key thing with setting up a Twitter account is picking a good username as well as optimizing the profile bio with keyword rich content.

Good luck!

Thanks everybody! What I'm actually looking for is more of a questionnaire for the "style" of a Facebook welcome page, Facebook side bar or for creating a Twitter background and such.

For example:

Facebook welcome tab

Would you like a hyperlink to your website?
Color preference?
Colors you don't like?
What social media sites do you participate with?
Do you want a contact box?
Do you want an newsletter box (where a potential client may want to sign up for your newsletter)?

I'm not actually looking for the actual way to set up a Facebook or Twitter page, though the information posted will be helpful to review, but the design content and so on. Any ideas?

Hi Robin,
I posted those resources to help you to come up with a questionnaire of your own. It's usually best if you are going to be offer it as a services that you create your own questionnaire to know exactly what goes into doing those tasks. Plus, then you can refine it to your own needs. Using someone else's means you might miss something that is important or integral to the process. Most people who offer this as a service won't post their questionnaires publicly.

Definately. Thanks Kimberly. I would never want to use someone elses...I've created one myself but am the type of person who wants to make sure she's not missing something. Thank you again for the resources.
