Default What is the best way to learn to fully utilize Twitter
Twitter's website really doesn't have any good instructions or tips. Are there any good books or websites that help you learn to market your business using Twitter?

I would say that a search of Virtual Assistant Forums for 'Twitter' (use the search link in the main menu, or better yet, the 'search forum' option inside the Social Media Marketing topic section) would bring up some great resources and information.

Other than that, creating an account and following those you know is a good start, just to see how others are using it. If you aren't sure who to follow, once you have a Twitter account search for 'virtual assistant' and start following the people who will show up in the search returns.

You could also search Google for 'Top Ten Twitter Tips' to get some nice, condensed info on how to make the most of it.

I hope that helps Sometimes you just have to jump in...

In marketing type webinars I have attended it has been suggested to "be a pro" for your area or niche on Twitter (works on other sites too).

For example, if you happen to be a real estate agent in Miami.. you would do searches for like "where Miami" "when Miami" and then find people asking questions that you can answer about the area. You slowly become an area expert so to speak. You could apply that to VA's or anything, I imagine.

Btw - BridieJ, your twitter tips are excellent! Thank you!

I was just as confused about using Twitter. I did exactly what Tess suggested I signed up and looked up virtual assistants and started following people who I thought would be useful resources.
I am still trying to get to know the ins and outs of twitter and I need to start tweeting more often now that I'm getting the jist of it.
Take a look at Bridie's list as it is very helpful!
