Hi

That is an awesome article!! I so agree with so many of them, almost all of them. They did it in such a comical way too. Love it!

The other thing that really gets me is those respond to DMs sales pitches. Really!! Do you really think I'm going to keep following you when you tell me you can get a bazillion followers overnight. I don't think so!

Thanks!

Hi Diana,

I thought this article was rather clever as well!

As soon as I receive those Mafia game pitches on Twitter and those DM on sales pitches, I unfollow!

This was funny, but so true! I too hate those games! I may be guilty of catching up with people occasionally on FB.

I do agree with most things in the article - but I must say that Facebook is a great way to catch up with someone. Otherwise - what else is it for? Yes they have advertising and things like that - it's great - but it is a social networking site - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_networking - hence the catching up with people without having to take 30 minutes to call and yap.

This article has to be one of the best that I have read in a long time. I got a couple of laughs out of it. I especially like the one about the people that need to get a life. I have a couple of people that are on it constantly, how do they have that much time?

That is so funny, thanks for posting. I joined Facebook 3 years ago to follow a page set up for the company I was working for that closed down. As people went their own ways it gradually faded and I never bothered with it. Recently I got a PM from a former acquaintance and went back in to see she was posting about life on a farm. PM'd her congrats on getting out of the rat race, but on closer inspection of her posts and the posts of others I found it was all role and game playing. Frankly, I'd rather watch paint dry.

Friends and acquaintances who use FB find it wonderful to keep in touch with family far away, update and post pictures of their daily lives and kids growing up.

From a professional standpoint I like LinkedIn (there are 3 good sized groups in this city). I'm slowly getting into Myspace and have a column on Tweetdeck to pick up anything that is local.

I'm sure many VAs find FB worthwhile but, for now anyway, I'd prefer to slowly build on the 3 ... "quality, rather than quantity".

Just my two pennyworth.

Lynne

This article is very funny. Some are so true. I'm not a big fan of social media either.

To me, relationship has to be personal. I prefer face-to-face conversation in a cozy coffee shop over Writing On somebody's Wall any time of day. But you do need to follow the trend or you might lose some chances.

Thanks for the good laugh
