Can someone tell me how the #(whatever) in Twitter does?
I know it makes your post visible somewhere, but can't seem to find the "instructions".
I don't have a lot of time to be online to figure out Twitter. I can post, direct message and @ reply - but that's about all I have time for right now...LOL

it is a way to categorize your post and you can go to www.search.twitter.com and search for the #(whatever) and see who else is talking about it too.

Just thought I'd jump in - the # is called a 'hash tag' - here's a little writeup at the Twitter Fan Wiki that explains a bit more.

It's called a hashtag. For instance, you can even get a Facebook plugin if you have a Facebook page, so that if you want a Tweet to go on your pages mini feed, you put a #fb after it. Totally cool!
