Default Twitter
Hi,
I have opened a twitter account but with everything else i'm trying to do it's hard to find the time and remember to log in. Is it really worth it? I don't know alot about it so i guess my question is, does it get you any business or just update existing clients etc on what's happening? TIA
Megan

Hi Megan
Yes, when using Twitter correctly it can be very beneficial for you & your business. There's so many connections to be made using Social Media. One thing to remember, it's all about building relationships and letting others see what your about and what you have to offer, not promoting yourself. In terms of Social Media it's best to be yourself, build your following and let potential clients come to you. Not only are potential clients on Twitter, so are a multitude of others. It's a place to network with a variety of industries.

I suggest taking the time to read the blogs URL="http://www.virtualassistantforums.com/blogs/jkvirtualoffice/"]here[/URL] posted by Kimberly LeRiche [@jkvirtualoffice]. She's such a great example of how social media should be used. Also, the Social Networking section has a ton of valuable information related to Twitter.

Hope this helps you some. If not, post back with any other questions you might have!

Hi Megan - as a very recent tweeter, and still not absolutely sure what I'm doing, I would definitely say that it is worthwhile. I've just found my first client through Twitter. I do think it's a bit like anything though - you have to invest the time to reap the rewards. In fact, I'm just off to check Twitter etiquette because I'm sure that I'm doing lots of things wrong.

At first, I found Twitter very confusing with people twitterring left, right and centre.
There are a couple of applications that I find particularly useful: Tweetdeck which I use all the time allows you to manage conversations and create groups. I have created a VA group, for instance, which keeps me up to date with people I am following from VAF.

The other one that I use regularly is Twitulater - which categorises tweets from the people you're following into 11 different categories.

Hope this helps you decide.

Hello Megan,

I am still new to Twitter and I found it hard to get started. I had to make a conscience effort to log in to Twitter and post a reply, as time has gone on it has gotten easier for me. Soon I will be thinking in 140 character phrases .
