Default Timely - tweet scheduling service
I've just discovered Timely and thought I'd share some info for those who might be interested. It's a very simple and effective tweet scheduler.

I'm also hoping to hear what you are using for scheduled tweets!

So far, Timely seems like a great resource for the following reasons:
-it's super simple - as in easy to use, not a ton of features (which can be a good thing), does what it says it will do and does it beautifully.
-has a little bookmarklet so you can add something you come across on the web to your queue and it'll go out later
-automatically shortens links using bitly or awesm

Timely spaces your scheduled tweets out over a 24 hour period. The free account lets you schedule 1, 3, 5 or 9 tweets per day and doesn't appear to have a limit for the number of tweets you can add.

You can also have unlimited Twitter accounts in one Timely control panel.

Also, the pro account will post to Facebook as well....

I know HootSuite is a favorite of many VAs - what do you use to schedule tweets?

Tess,

Thanks for sharing this cool tool. I do not use a scheduler myself yet, but I have been looking and I like the idea of free and that you can schedule up to 9 a day. Not, that I tweet all that much.

Will be looking into this in more detail. Thanks.

I haven't used a scheduler yet, but I when I clicked on the link, I got this message. Technologies used in Timely are only available in browsers such as Google Chrome, Safari and Firefox. Please Upgrade your browser in order to use Timely. So, evidently, Timely does not work with IE.

I'm currently using Timely and it is as great as Tess says. I also use a app called Buffer which actually allow you to reads stats about the tweet, such as how many clicks the link recv'd (if you posted it in that tweet) and it also lets you know how many people the tweet has reached. Both of these apps work good.

I use Hootsuite to schedule my tweets - at the start of each month I write and schedule 30 tweets to be sent through Hootsuite from my twitter account for the next 30 days (one a day). Saves me having to remember to do it everyday. I havent heard of Timely but I may check it out!

Timely does have some basic stats, like how many RTs your tweet got and how much exposure on Twitter that garnered you (your followers plus your RTers followers) BUT since it scans back 199 Tweets to analyze it includes past RTs in the analysis if you're posting the same Tweet or link more than once... not necessarily a negative just something I noticed when playing around with it.

All in all, I think it's a great service.

Well........ now I've been playing around with Timely for a while and it works great for one account, seemingly not at all for another. I have all the permissions set, etc. so I don't know why the one account isn't functioning. I'll have to email and see if they can help me figure it out.

I will say that about a week ago both accounts stopped working for about 16 hours over a weekend. I emailed the support email listed on the Timely site and got a personal reply within just a few hours that they had been having server issues and had it all fixed already. So great customer service even on the free accounts - major plus!
