Default Stumped again with Facebook
I installed static FBML to my fan page but I have to admit that I have no clue what/how to use it. Would someone have resources on where to get educated or a crash course on FBML (free if possible). I would also like to change the box tab to something else but according to some stuff I've been reading, I'm not sure if we can still do it.

Try this link... http://www.hyperarts.com/blog/custom...l-application/

Just go to google and enter --> FBML. There is several explanations there. However, one must know code to do this in Facebook.

If you use WP or other WYSIWYG type editor - you can create a page or post there and copy the code to your FBML page (remove the head and body coding at the beginning and end of the HTML code to use on Facebook).

This will work most of the time. Also if you are a graphic person you can create your "page" in a graphics program, save as an image file and post to your FBML tab with HTML code.

The Boxes tab is supposed to disappear soon - Facebook update will be removing it. All the items you currently have on your Boxes tab should be moved to their own Static FBML tab or to your sidebar or they will be lost when the update is completed.

If you want to PM me with more details I might have an idea or two or be able to steer you to someone who does

Great idea! I didn't think of that! I managed to get something done but not to where I want it to be. Also, I'm trying to figure out how to center a picture. For the tab, I'm not sure if I did it right. I'll be working on it a little more when I can but I'm sure I'll figure it out. Thanks so much!

Hi Erin (& everyone) - great pages! Where did you get your contact form if you don't mind my asking? I have one on mine from JotForm, but I like yours better (& actually, it seems several VAs went to the same place for theirs too)! lol TIA!

Hi Shana,
Most people use Aweber to create their Facebook subscribe forms but it costs monthly to have a subscription. I prefer them over others as their forms seem to work best with Facebook. I know Vertical Response and iContacts forms do not work on Facebook.

For anyone else who's just getting started with using FBML for their fan page, you can check out a video I did on how to add the FBML app and a Twitter icon to your fan page using the app.

Thanks Kimberly - great video! I hadn't gotten as far as adding my twitter account, but will be doing that promptly. I ended up using a basic contact form from JotForm & it seems to work well. I don't currently have a newsletter I send out, so for now I think the basic form will be ok just for people who want to send a short note my way.

Thanks again!
