Hi Jessica,

There are resident Twitter experts here, whom I'm sure will reply in greater detail but I wanted to stop by and say that the applications are not on the Twitter site or homepage. Rather they are located in the links provided by Dawn, in the original entry of this thread.

I'd also like you to encourage you to keep at it. Twitter has great potential for building relationships in a 'high-touch' way.

I'm sure my peers will jump in with links and instructions. Please don't give up.

Regards,

Jan

OK and thank you. I'm perfecting my Linkedin page and then making my way to Facebook and I'll go back to Twitter.

On Twitter I just don't get it.
Twitter is great for networking and social networking. In order to get the most out of it, you need to "follow" people that interest you and interact with them. When I first started out on twitter it was slow for me until I built up a good network of followers and people to follow.

What do you mean "follow." I don't understand the navigation of the silly site. I click on "everyone" and what you just have to click each person and read their profile and decide to "follow" them? I'm looking at the "everyone" now and I don't have a clue what they are talking about. It seems they are engaged in a conversation but where is the start of the conversation? Like I said Twitter does not make sense. But I'm willing to learn so please share.

Jessica,

Twitter is kind of like on on-going conversation. You basically post comments on what you are doing for the day, respond to other peoples comments you are following, give links to some great articles you have read, or just post anything that is interesting to you or that may be interesting to others. It's really fun when you get the hang of it.

Don't worry you will get use to it. If you have any other questions please feel free to ask.

I wish you all the best with your business and Twitter.

There are a lot of great resources you can read up on in regards to Twitter. Kimberly wrote a great blog which you can find here about Twitter. If you have any specific questions please post them and I am sure one of us will chime in.

Don't feel bad, jnix612, I'm in exactly the same boat! I just started Twittering (or is it Tweeting?) a couple days ago and I'm mystified as to where all the cool stuff is. I know it's there....I just don't know how to get to it. If you find a cache of great stuff, point me in that direction please!
