Default Social Networking for Dummies
I have been reading all the posts about social networking and I have a confession to make: I am a social networking dummie! Is there a resource for those of us who don't have a clue about things like Twitter and Facebook to get up to speed on how to work these sites?

I would appreciate any ideas or help that anyone has for me.
Thanks

Ladies,

I am sure somewhere on this forum there are threads about Twitter. But the basics really are pretty simple. It can get confusing, but don't worry about that to start. Just sign on and get a log in. I used the same login name as I use here. I read somewhere that some people will not follow you if you do not use your real name. I don't know if that is true. Then you need to search for people to follow. Start with a few people from this forum. Search their name, their login from here, their business name. You will find people. Follow their "tweets" and see what they have to say. Comment, or retweet (RT) to them if you want. Post comments, opinions, links to articles that you have read. Just start out by reading what everyone has to say. The object is to build relationships by connecting with other people that you have something in common with. Give it a try. You'll get the hang of it. Have fun!

I have to admit that social networking is a bit of a mystery to me as well. I feel like I am lost in a sea of status updates. I am on facebook, twitter and linkedin.. what I did find that helps me is friendfeed.com. I set up all my accounts on there so everything else is updated. So the posting part is getting along and I am adding sites, its the reading part that is hard and WAY TOO time consuming for me... still working on that part.

That is really helpful, Shelley - I was feeling exactly the same. I will give friendfeed a try!

Hey everyone!

I'm confused on all these social networking sites. Know about Facebook and Twitter. What are linkedin and Active Rain?

Can someone provide a list of useful social networks and how to utilize them. I know it would be helpful to me.
