Funny - I'm becoming more fond of Facebook as time goes on, even though it can certainly be infuriating. As Kathie says, you can use it in whatever way best suits you, and after a while, you can see how it works ...

I was reluctant to join FB, but have enjoyed it since I have. I don't use it for biz though, and don't want to. I agree all the dumb games are a pain, once I found out I could "hide" people and their games I was happier. It also helps when people set their updates to that you don't have to endure: "debbie is now friends with sally", etc. I was shocked at how many people still think they should FW every idiotic chain email they receive. When I finally called one of my "friends" on it, told her it was an old scam, she admitted she hadn't even read it! You mean to tell me you send this trash without even reading it first?!

I do use Facebook, but only to keep in touch with extended family and friends. I do not play the games or give the "gifts" and find that to be a colossal waste of time. If others enjoy that part of Facebook, more power to them - it's just not for me.

Facebook is very useful to me. For instance, when my son passed the CPA exam, I simply posted the news as my status rather than individually telling people how proud I am of him!

I agree - if you hide the posts regarding games and quizzes - so that you only see status updates - or now you can even change your settings to only show status updates (like twitter) - then it's much less "cluttered"
