Re: Now this is interesting
I agree that you need to be careful what information you put out there about yourself. Another thing to consider is what others put out there about you. For example on Facebook, a friend of mine put pictures of me and others (and tagged us) up on her page during our Europe trip in high school. Now while I have nothing to hide, it originally took me by surprise. At the time, I was new to FB and didn't know about tagging and such. Since those pictures brought back great memories, I'm happy to have them up.
I can say that I have no pictures out there I would shame/embarrass me. I am happy however, that the latest FB update included the ability to remove tags of others and given me the choice of who sees content about me. I don't approve of potential employers, etc., requiring access to candidates profiles, but I also don't think that's going to change.
I am careful what I put out there, who has access to info about me and frequently run a search on myself, just in case. I love technology and it's my reposiblity to make sure the info out about me and my family is something we want to give access to and if not, find a way to remove it.
