A question from a client

Another frustration I have on the "fan page" is the LACK of notifications??? I am unable to find a way to set this up? I get an email for EVERYTHING on my personal page, but when something is posted on my business page, or when someone comments on one of my photos, NOTHING is sent?? It seems a bit silly, as it's meant to be a business page- so it should streamline all of the activity for you? I literally have to go thru the page, and search to see if someone even commented in the first place?

They do provide the "insights" and right now it reads:
11 interactions this week; 7 likes, 12 comments, 1 wall post

I find it a bit frustrating.... Let me know if you have found anything on this!!

Anyone out there had any experience with how to feed the notifications to your email?

Hi Carol,

The only work-around I've found is to "like" the posts that you want to track - and make sure your notifications are set up to receive a message when someone comments on something you like.

Not ideal, but it works.

Thanks April, I do have my notifications set to email me, but for some reason my fan page/business does not update...will keep searching and share when if I find anything.

April is right. That's the only workaround. The lack of notifications when someone posts on your business page has been a frustration for users since the inception of Facebook pages a few years ago.

Can't you just subscribe to the rss feed? or doesn't it show responses/comments? Never tried it but curious.

Unfortunately, subscribing to the RSS feed only feeds page posts and don't also include comments or when someone posts on your Wall.

I did run across this application today that you can use which will send you a text message notification when someone posts on your Page. However, standard text message charges from your carrier apply (which probably isn't a big deal if you have an unlimited text plan.) But from I saw on the application page, they also send out ads via text message to users and some other advertising. They have plans to come out with a Pro (paid) version but that's not out yet.

Basically, to me, you get the ability to receive page notifications by text but they get access to and all your info via their application. I don't really think it's worth it.

Hi Carol,

I would suggest to review and verify your Email Notification Settings again. Maybe there are some fields you missed to fill to activate some of the configuration.
