Default How to get "Fans" for my virtual assistant facebook page
Hi All,
Okay, I created my fan page for my VA business and now I need to get the "word" out about it. How do you share your page without having to "friend" people. I have searched and cannot find the answer .
Can someone point me in the right direction??
I am not sure if I want to "friend" clients just yet but want them to "see" my fan page.

Thank you for the help
Jenn

Hi Jenn - I'm in the process of doing the same thing. My coach gave me the following suggestions: start by writing posts. You can pose a question or statement, provide basic information, talk about what service you are offering or post links to articles.

I hope this helps.

To Your Success!

Hey Jenn -

There are 3 ways I do this. 1) if someone who is not actually friend or family member and they request to "friend" me I send them back a message and say - "Hi _____, thank you for your friend request. However, I usually keep the friend side for just family type stuff, and a few non-business contacts. I would love to invite you to go to my Business Fan Page and "like" me. That way I can share relevant information with you...and also I will be sure to "like" you back! 2) If I don't get a request I basically say the same thing above in an email after I've met people...and I include a little brief re-introduction. 3) After I get 25 people "liking" me I'll be getting the web address on my business cards. Reason they aren't now is because of that long # that follows.

Key is to drive them there, just as you would your website, after you do what A Lynn suggested, which is to get a few posts (not more than 3 or 4), so that people will see all of them when your first bunch o' people show up. Then, write at least once every other day, at least for awhile.

Hope it's helpful!
Pam

Hi Jen,

I would suggest to start inviting your existing connection ( friends, clients, and Family). Then post a relevant and Interesting posts. The key is to let them interact with the post.

Here's an article that can help you with the other aspects that you need to know in having an interesting Fan page .

Hi Jen,

I followed the steps listed to create a business page. I used by existing mailing list to announce the page. If this click the "like" button they will be notified of any updates to the page. I try to post something everyday and to get ideas of useful subjects or help features I subscribe to Google alerts.

Hello,
Another way to add more fans or likes to your page is adding the fanpage url to your email signature. Sign up for a budurl accout to shorten the link, until you've reached the 25 amount to get your own facebook URL.

Add this URL to every piece of literature you send out - replying to blog post, marketing materials, web forms, forum signatures (if allowed), your profile box on facebook, your bio on twitter, linkedin profile. Just everywhere, and your page will grow if your supplying good content. Key is to keep updated, quality content on your page to make them want to come back for more

Hi,

I find social proof to be the biggest thing to initially overcome. In other words, not many people tend to 'like' your page until other people have already 'liked' your page!

To get the ball rolling you can use a service like microworkers to get yourself a few initial likes, then organic ones should come flowing in after providing you follow some of the good advice given here.

Hi Jenn,

Another tactic that I use is put the link of my fan page on the DM that I send out to my new followers on Twitter. I mention a line saying, "Are you on Facebook?" then I give the link. Most of the time, people would click and send me DMs as well that they have liked the page.

Best regards,
Karen
