Hi All,

I have been doing wuite a bit of work for clients in Facebook and have hit a wall with this one.

I am needing to add a BOX to the SIDE of a Fan Page that I can add Newsletter Subscription Info to.

I have managed to put the box there using Static FBML Application- though I can not make the box bigger to show:

Name:
Email:
Submit:

As you usually would when subscribing to someone's newsletter.

I have tried a couple of other Applications though they have failed me with this particular task so far.

Can anyone help?

There are limitations to the size of the width of the box you for the sidebar of the Wall of the Fan page. You can't change this. But you can lengthen the box.

You can alter your code to decrease the pixel size of the width of the box so that it fits in the sidebar.

I don't know that it matters too much because Facebook has said they are going to get rid of the boxes in the Wall soon anyway so you might do best to put the newsletter box as part of a custom welcome tab and then use the settings so that everyone who is not a fan automatically lands on the welcome tab when they come to that fan page.

Great answer Kimberly, just another reminder that Facebook has some changes in store so when you are working on designs for clients it is best you are aware of them. Some up and coming:

1. Facebook is getting rid of the “Boxes” tab, including boxes on your home page
2. Facebook is removing the ability to use iFrames on Fan Pages (this is for mostly for developers)
3. Facebook is shrinking the maximum Fan Page width from 760 pixels wide to 520 pixels wide
