I have been asked if business pages can join groups. I do not believe they can join...only people (personal pages) can join. But I can't back that up with any support page on Facebook or on the web.

Does anyone have a link they can provide to indicate only personal pages can join groups?

I Googled before I posted and saw that site. Thank you but my question is "Does anyone have a link they can provide to indicate only personal pages can join groups?" The page you provided doesn't offer this information.

I would just tell them to go join a group and then they'll see that it joins as their personal profile.

I'd point them specifically to this text:

Additionally, when you take actions on your group, such as posting on your group's wall, these actions will appear to come from you as an individual. However, if you post or take other actions on a Page you own, it will appear to come from the Page.
