Question Finding Where Potential Clients Hangout Online
Most of my VA clients have come from a handful of distinct groups. I've worked for 2 writers,1 inventor,1PH.D, A handful of network marketing types. As you can see, I haven't had alot of seperate clients but the ones I've had have kept me busy.

I know where to go to find more writers who might employ me, that's easy since I write and hang out there to but what frustrates me is trying to find places where my other desired clients might hang out. Like if you were a dropshipper, at the end of your day where might you go online to hangout. Maybe there's a group called "Dropshippers After Hours" or something but I don't know of these and have searched out such places with no luck. Any suggestions?

Hi Sheila, I don't know if you're truly looking for dropshippers (are you? ) but just to go with your example - there are tons of forums and groups for just about any niche you can imagine. Google turns up quite a few good leads for a search for 'dropshippers forum'.

No doubt there are also industry events, newsletters, and possibly even print magazines for dropshippers...

Continuing with the same example: you can also search Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook for the term 'dropshipper' and follow/join conversations, groups, etc. and follow the links they're sharing to even more sites you can potentially interact with your target market.

Also, look for dropshipper blogs, read the comments, or comment yourself, and follow links to see where people are coming from/going to.

Of course, this approach would be effective for any niche or industry... Hope the suggestions help you find what you're looking for

Tess:

Thanks. Yes I am really looking for dropshippers ... along with many other categories of professionals. A successful dropshipper (I've known a few), has his or her hands full and might need some help from what I've seen.

Thanks for all the great suggestions.

I think you need to build a bigger profile for your clients. You need to know way more about them (beyond the fact that their dropshippers). Try to think about your ideal client and pretend you're going to create a profile for you on a forum.

Is she married? Does she have kids? Is she putting it off? Does she work long hours and can't get to the gym? What are her hobbies? Who are her friends? What is she worried about? What is she most proud of?
