Default FB question...
Hi,
Just wondering if you have a personal FB account and have a business page, do you use your business page as your primary page?
I have a personal FB account and my business page is off of that. But if I "like" a particular site it posts it on to my personal page.
I have "liked" other pages for personal use/reasons and don't really want that to appear on my business page. But how do I go about liking a business related site and have it appear on my business page?

HI KELS! YOU ARE WELCOME. I have a question on same subject.
I currently have a personal fcb page---and then added a business page. The question is: do people who do like my business page able to see my personal page?

Good info! Kels, very basic, simple, and easy to understand on Facebook. Hope you don't mind if I point others in your direction.

Of course I don't mind!

Facebook can be confusing, and even more so since it changes all the time!

Terri, do you mean you have a personal profile and then a business page?

Your personal profiles are completely seperate to any pages you set up, just make sure your privacy settings (in your personal profile) are set up to how you want them to be.

But Terri, to answer your question, no, again, any business page is completely unrelated to your personal profile, even if someone likes your business page.

You need a personal profile to create a business page, mainly for accountability.

I manage many business pages and no one knows it's me

Thanks for this post Kelly. So my thinking was correct...I would have to switch to my business page in order to "like" other business related pages.
But if I switch to my business page then all of my interaction (ie. if I like a personal photo, link or post to a friend's wall) will be from "Quick Works" and not "Malaika".
I was hoping there was an easier way to distinguish the interaction between the two pages without having to switch between pages.

Thank you again, Kels! I understand and think I have my pages I administer set up correctly.

I thought people could become 'friends' on my business page, and learned two days ago, that other people can 'like' my business not friend my business.

In answer to you, Malaika, yes you do need to switch as you mention. If there was an easier way, I'd like to know about it also.

Great Post!

yes, unfortunately you have to 'use facebook as xx page' to enable interaction with other pages and interact with fans.

You can however change your settings in your fan page..to not automatically post 'the business' on the page. e.g when you post on your own facebook page, regardless if you opt to 'use facebook as a page' you will automatically be posting as the business...to stop this from happening go to your business page, click 'edit page' then 'your settings' then untick the very top box 'Always comment and post on your page as xxx business. You're currently using Facebook as xxx business. To switch to Kelly Cairns, click Account at the top of any page.'

Now, when you post on your own business page (or any pages you administer' you will post as you the person, unless you physically choose to 'use facebook as xx page'

hope that makes sense! X
