Default Facebook Tips
I am just starting up a facebook page for a local retail company, and would love some tips and suggestion for creating a great page. I'm new to this and would like to create something that stands out.
I've tried to add a poll, but it won't seem to add it to my company page, it adds it to my personal page and doesn't give me the option to add it to the business page. Also is there a way to add logo links to websites (I'm think links to the clothing lines they carry: Quiksilver, Billabong ect ...)

Thanks in advance for any tips!

Jaime

I am not a FB junkie, but I do have a page that I mess around with and well here is what I did:

I headed to my page then clicked on the link at the bottom..add applications. Then I did a search for POLLS. The very first one impressed me...clicked on it and when to their page below their profile image was ADD TO MY PAGE a box appeared showing all the pages I have I chose the one I wanted.

http://www.facebook.com/apps/applica...id=86808685661 Here is the link I found for Polls...I hope it works.

Once I did this I headed over to my page and found the tab at the top area of the page. Click on it and you should be able to create the poll.

I hope this works....

I hope this helps!

Thanks for the help, I was able to use the poll you suggested and my client loves it.
I'll post a link once I get it all figured out.

Jaime,
If you want to add logos with links to products on their website or clothing lines they carry, you can add the Static FBML application and use basic HTML to create a customized tab.

I created a video that you can see here in this thread about how to add the Static FBML application: Stumped again with Facebook

I'd also recommend creating a custom profile picture. You can create a .jpg in any photo editing software and the maximum dimensions are 520 x 180. You can use the profile pic as additional real estate on the wall to let people know who your client is and what do/sell.

I'd have to know a bit more about the client and what they are looking to accomplish with their FB page to give any additional targeted suggestions.

I was able to add a customer sign up page, but I'd like to add links to the brand websites, like you suggested. So far the tabs I have are the wall, info, polls, sign up,links and photo's. I would like to add the links for the brands on the side. I'm just not sure how to create the html code. I've done some website design, but I work mostly in design mode with publisher.
The company I'm working for is a locally owned retail store that carries mostly skateboarding and streetwear lines ( fox, roxy, quiksilver, affliction, DC shoes, ) They also do shirt printing so customers can come in and design their own shirts. Their goal with the facebook page is to use it as a way to advertise sales and new products, get a customer list going, and run some promotions to help bring customers into the store. The find that newspaper ads just isn't getting the response they need, and want to try something new.

Hi Jaime,

I just finished working in a 3rd party program called ShopTab . This is not a free FB program, rather a paid program for those who want to sell their wares through FB.

FB 'fans' can click through photos of the merchandise through a FB tab to see photos, descriptions, pricing and then click to buy the item back at the client's website.

I know it is not free but it might be an option down-the-road.
