Who's account is the first error "page" under? Is it really a page or is a profile that you set up with your mother's business name? Depending on what it is you've set up will dictate how you delete it or deactivate.

It sounds like you *now* have a business fan page set up under your mother's personal profile where she is the admin. But there's also an "error" page or account that you set up first that you now want to delete, correct?

We just need to know if it's a fan page or profile. Did you first accidentally set up a personal profile with your mom's business name and info? If that's the case then you need to deactivate the account using the personal settings from the menu at the top of the page- Settings: Profile: Deactivate Account. If you've already done that then it could still be showing up in a search until their servers update and clear it out. Are you sure it isn't her new fan page that's showing up in the search?

Honestly, I'm not sure if it's a page or profile - I do see her full name and business, so I'm thinking it's a page and profile. I had to use one of my "Yahoo" emails to set this up.

Yes, this is set up under my mother's correct personal profile. There is not error under this personal profile. It's the one above that I had to make up.

Yes, this is correct too. I did go into the settings and deactive the settings. How, I can tell which is which, her personal FB that she already had was set up under her first name "nickname" and last name vs' the one I did was her full legal name. It's like Susan vs' Susie. Do you think the server updates daily? If so, I can check tomorrow and see wha't up. I just don't want the incorrect one sitting out there and people go to find her to become a fan and sign up with the incorrect one.

Thanks a bunch for your time and information!!!!

OMG! I think it's fixed. With the help of VAF!!! When I do a search of her business I now see one "professional service" and then her "personal" link. That's it! Before it was showing her nickname and full name, plus the professional service.

I'm so glad this is taken care of. Now, I know what to do for mine.

BTW, can anyone who signs up under the "professional" profile as a fan, see your personal page? Ever? At all? Not that I have anything bad on my personal page, I'm thinking for clients who may want to do a professional profile.

Yes you can find the page owners profile if you want to.

If your clients want their profile to remain private you can open their fan page under your profile and manage it for them. This is the case with a gal I am currently working with, and she does not want them linked in any way.

Yea!! Glad to hear it's fixed.

No, no one can see the personal profile of the admin for a fan page. Only people who you approve as "friends" can see your personal profile. With a fan page, anyone can become a fan (they don't need your prior approval- which is what is great about them.)

Here is what Facebook says about finding out who the Admin for a Business page is:

Quote:
Because Pages are designed to allow users to maintain a personal/professional separation, we don't publish information about a Page's admins. You're welcome to contact the admin through the Page by posting to it. Sorry for any inconvenience.
The easiest way to tell the difference between a fan page and personal profile is that one will give the option to "Add as a Friend" and the other will give the option to "Become a Fan." Friends must be approved. Fans do not.

If the page is talking about someone's services or their products you can usually find them that way...that is what I was referring to. Finding someone on facebook gets easier and easier now adays

Yes, that's true they can figure out who owns the business from information posted to the fan page but they still won't have access to that person's personal profile on Facebook, which I think it what her concern was.

I just found this great article about Facebook and it's privacy features. I have used my profile for personal use and have been afraid to add business contacts as I have pictures of my children etc. You can add people as fan's and not friends and they can see your updates but not your personal info. http://mashable.com/2009/08/12/faceb...vacy-features/
