Default Facebook - Business vs Personal
I'm creating my business facebook page, ideally I want a completly seperate page from my personal. I read somewhere one of the requirements with Facebook is an individual name must be attached to any Facebook page created. And that name can only have one FB page at a time.

Is this true? Will I need to turn my personal FB into my business FB? Sure will take the fun out of FB for me because I use it as a tool to connect with my friends and family. If I make it all business then I have to stay strictly business. Surely I'm mistaken.

I know others that know how to explain this better will jump in here, but this is the way I'm set up. I have a personal profile page on FB and a separate FB business page. You set the business page up through your personal profile page but they are separate...separate walls for posts and if something is posted on your personal FB page it won't show up on your business page.

Hope that helps some.

Thank you. I'm in the process of updating the site. I have a better software now. But glad to hear someone liked it.

Thanks for the FB advice. This is how I am currently proceeding with the site. Having the business connected to the personal based on my understanding of the rules. But I'll check back in case someone has other options. I would prefer one totally seperate, but I'll take what is offered. Rules are rules.

Jessica, as I understand it you can have your business page but it must be linked to your personal page. I just created another page to use for my business. I have another personal FB page that I use for family and friends. They do no interact on my business page. I also used another email address for my business page. I have no idea how to make my page sparkle but I am hoping I can get some input from the forums.

Yes, you set the business page up using your person FB account - the two are still seperate..it's just you have to be a FB user to create the page. The two won't interfer with eachother and you have the option to 'use facebook as (your page)' so you can switch between the two . As far as I'm aware you can have more than one fb page per fb account

Hi Jessica,
What others have mentioned is correct. You create a page through your personal profile. They are completely separate and do no interfere with each other. I was wondering the same thing and googled it and found out that this is the only way you are able to do it.

I have my business Facebook page associated with my account as well as being administrator for 5 of my clients pages. It's actually so much easier now than it used to be to keep the page separate from your individual Facebook account since they let you switch between being logged in as yourself or as 'the page'. No worries on your personal status updates pulling into your page feed or vice versa!

I have created my business Facebook page through my personal Facebook page as others have suggested. The two do not seem to interfere with each other and I have some cross posts from friends and family.

what I did is I created a fanpage using my personal facebook account. I have yet to "customize" the fanpage and get more followers or likes.
