Default Does anyone use Myspace anymore?
I've set up on Facebook, Twitter and Linked In for my new business as well as setting up accounts for Stumbleupon, Digg, etc. I've also linked all these together as much as I could and never miss the opportunity to add my profile links whenever I'm asked to.

When doing so here I noticed Myspace was included in the social network list. Perhaps because it was one of the first social networks many VAs used, I'm not sure.

I was of the opinion that Myspace really isn't that relevant anymore and besides which, as it's too messy to use and too messy looking, it's not the most professional platform with which to promote one's business.

I can, however, see where it could come in useful to certain niche marketers. Singers, bands and other performing artists have always been strong Myspace users and were among the first to see the potential in social network marketing. So, for example, VAs working in the publicity, promotion, entertainment and events sectors can use Myspace to connect with them.

Anyone else have any other examples of why it's still worth having or hanging on to their Myspace account? Or do you agree that MySpace is pretty much the forgotten network?

MySpace? What's that?

I think you have a good point about the entertainment industry still utilizing MySpace and relative VAs would possibly use it but I don't personally know anyone who uses the site at all anymore, period.

I agree that it doesn't have the same professional status and isn't really a logical place to promote a VA business. (Although I'd be interested to hear otherwise if there is anyone with stories of landing clients via MySpace )

I have a client who uses MySpace mainly because the pluging for streaming her music are easy to use. As we move forward with her new site and marketing, I am hoping to convince her otherwise. Anyone have experience with a good WordPress music plugin?

When I saw this thread I had no idea how old it was until I looked.

Just like VirtualAssistant-4u I have never used MySpace and have no plans. I'm not sure of it's popularity even in the younger generation now.

Does anyone here still use it?

I still have a MySpace account which I have had for many years and from time to time I will go on to see whats happening but the novelty has worn off. I tried to use it to help market my business to musicians and artists but I think the only people that are using it are garage bands and aspiring models. I get a lot of spam messages and requests and I delete them. I have never got any clients from that site. It never hurts to have an account but in my experience it didn't help me.

My client, who is a musician, still has a myspace account. It doesn't get used much and is mostly "junk mail" coming in. It's all about FB these days

It looks like the short answer is "NO". I had a potential client ask me if I could manage his profiles and one of them was myspace. I had to explain to him that his money and my time would be better spent on linkedin or FB.
