Default Article appears to be advising using personal FB pages for businesses
My friend sent me a link to this article, Building and Managing Your Reputation on Facebook. As I was reading it, I found (underling is mine)...

One benefit of using your personal Facebook page for your business is that you can build relationships with members of the media who may want to write about you or your business because personal pages allow you to connect with other users while business pages don’t.

Choose your friends wisely. If you’re using a personal Facebook page for your business, remember that your friends’ reputation affects yours.

I can't find a date on the article and know nothing about the site. Now maybe he's trying to say to go THROUGH your personal FB account to set up your business page rather than setting up a business page separate (something I did by mistake and had to correct, as that's a no-no if you already have a personal FB account).

Am I reading what he's trying to say incorrectly or is he saying to use personal FB accounts for businesses instead of business fan pages?

Hi Pam,

I looked through the article and I'm pretty sure I know what he's talking about. I have quite a few friends (since I have a real estate background), who use their personal FB page for business and personal "stuff". They may link to their business blog articles, advertise houses they are listing, use businessy quotes in their status, etc.

There is a way to do, but it can also become annoying to those people who are on FB for fun and friends and don't care about all the business stuff that people are putting on their FB page.

Thank you for explaining. I didn't know anyone did that, so I was a bit confused! So it's a purely personal account, but they're talking about business.
