Default Tax records, etc.
Is there a good program out there for keeping track of my income and expenses for those nasty little profit and loss, income statements, and other business records that we should be keeping on a regular basis? I've tried Quick Books and it was okay, but I wonder if there are others that I can/should check out before making a decision.

Cheryl:
Freshbooks.com will handle your income and some expenses.
Outright.com will handle your income and expenses in a very simplified fashion.
Don't give up on QuickBooks entirely, though, as it offers many bells and whistles -- like reconciliations -- that the others don't offer.

HTH!

I use www.outright.com and really like it. As mentioned previously, it is VERY simple to use. You enter your income, expenses and it will give you an idea as to how much you should send in for quarterly taxes. I really like it.

I started using this after getting frustrated with QuickBooks Pro. BUT I do use QB for invoicing and just keeping track of who owes me what. Whenever an invoice gets paid, I record it in QB as well as Outright.

Not the most efficient system, but it works for me at the moment!

Another program you may want to look at is www.mint.com. (free) Just be sure to ALWAYS read the terms and conditions. I know they are lengthy but, no two are alike. You would be surprised how some read. They are very careful to point out that it is your responsibility to monitor the site for changes. So now, I print out the registration page to every site I register on along with the EULA (end user license agreement) to give myself half a chance.

Hope this helps.....

Judy
