Default Sole Proprietor and Taxes
I have my EIN and filed my DBA forms with the State. Do I need to send the IRS their third installment of estimated tax for 2009 which is due 9/15 if my business is being set-up and have not worked with any clients ?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

I would call the IRS office for you region and pose the question to them. Otherwise, I've included a link to the IRS site specifically for 1040ES estimated taxes. Worse case scenario would be reporting on the appropriate forms even though there may be no payment required.

From what I understand (I went through this with one of my clients), once you're all set up with the state and IRS you should file even if you're claiming $0 at least for sales tax. But, as A Virtual Jewel said, I would double check with the IRS on other taxes.

This is really a good question. I was wondering the same thing.
