Since Google promotes Apps as a web-based alternative to expensive desktop software, many people mistakenly assume that means Google services are, in general, "pretty much" secure for personal use, too. Apparently, that's only true to a point. This is bothersome to me! I've never used Google docs either. I like the control of having the files on my computer and having my own software. With mergers and acquisitions you never know who will own Google or any company tomorrow. I heard discussion on the radio this morning of the possibilty of Microsoft buying Research in Motion (Blackberry) - the discussion was in relation to the Google phone. Who knows if Microsoft will offer for RIM or if RIM would sell. __________________ Julia

I do use some free services but for add-ons such as time management and sendthis file. Has anyone ever used Sharepoint? Sharepoint hosting is not expensive and I'm looking at it as a collaboration tool. The hosting company I use offers Sharepoint hosting for $12.45 (US) a month if you pay for 12 months. I'm thinking about it. __________________ Julia
