Here is another software that I use myself. It is the Avast anti virus software. It is totally free for home office use. All you have to do it register it within 60 days. It's good then for 14 months and all you need to do then is re register it. It is the best anti virus software I have found and very easy to use. It does most everything by itself.

Avast is quite good software. I know a lot of people who prefer it over the paid competitors.

I have been using the free version of Avast for about 2 years now, and I really love it. It does the job.

I also have the free version of Zone Alarm (firewall) installed, and this has been for quite a few years. With the combination of both, my computer has been virus free and protected.

Sometimes you get what you pay for. One of my local clients uses Avast and had it on all of their office computers. One of the computers was having trouble with pop-ups and such whenever he went to the internet, it was obvious virus problems.

I did a bunch of clean up for him but couldn't get rid of it all, so I finally downloaded McAfee and it discovered and deleted over 349 viruses, spyware, adware, etc. off of the computer that Avast hadn't done anything about. I'm now in the process of putting McAfee on all of the computers (it happened this week).
