SEO Mistakes with you:
1. Making your whole site from Flash. It's great in moderation but seach engines struggle to index sites created in it. Don't build your whole website using it and avoiding using Flash for your navigation.
2. Using Javascript for your navigation. Google doesn't use Javascript, so if your site nav relies on it to work, Google won't know your pages exist.
3. Using frames. These also make it hard for Google to index your site.
4. Using tables for layout. These days with the newer web standards it's easier to get a page to look right without using tables. Tables also use lots more code than HTML or CSS, which means your content will appear lower down on the page (after all the code), which means Google will see it as less important.
5. Misusing images. Google is blind and can't see images on your site, so if your page is full of images and with no Alt Text on the images, Google doesn't know what it's about and cna't index it. Use images sparingly or use background images instead and make sure there are at least 50 words of content on each page you want indexed.
That's making me want to read the book again. Hope it helps everyone out. I'm off to find that library card and then use my scanner to copy the best pages so I can give the book back without all those highlights - I love doing that too!
