I haven't heard about this. Do you have an article to cite that I can read?

Thanks,
Janine

Here is a recent article about the changes: http://www.megawiremarketing.com/blo...m-updates-2010

Basically it says that Google is giving more weight to fresh content. Great thing for those who blog.

Google giving weight to fresh [relevant] content isn't really anything new so I can't say I'm making changes in my own or my clients' SEO efforts. And they change their algorithms all the time, always *without* indication in what direction - SEOs can speculate, and hypothesize about those changes, but no one ever knows, other than Google.

I agree Tess, I do not think anyone will ever truly figure it out and Google would like to keep it that way. However, this is one reason that blogging is a great idea since it does provide fresh content.

Then again so does participating in forums such as this and social media.

I posted this question in one of my other threads but I'm still unsure of the answer.

I don't know if my blog is considered part of my website if they are created with 2 different tools. The url of the blog is mysite.com/blog. I have links to the blog on every page of the site and links back to every page of the site from the blog.

So, what do all you wise people say? Is the blog part of my site or just something external with links?

In light of the topic of this thread, if Google looks for fresh content, is my blog helping me?
