Page Rank really isn't a good measure of how well you've optimized your site these days. If you want to rank in the top 10 at Google you have to: A. Have a lot of unique and relevent content B. Have a lot of inbound links to your site from other industry related websites That's about it - you could go into greater detail such as ensuring you've done keyword research, put unique meta titles and descriptions on each page, used H1 and alt tags properly, put relevant anchor text in the links that point to your site... To increase page ranks, have more relevant content and also increase your pages in your web site for each relevant keyword/ long tail and optimize those pages and also use article traffic for increasing the relevant page traffic.
