Truthfully, it's one of my *least* favorite things to do...but it's worth working it in - I try to count it as part of my marketing efforts (for the forums) so it gets done.
I've done alot of manual link submissions for clients. Quite a few times I've submitted to nearly every directory in the 'free' list at Directory Critic (1,000+ dirs) it get boring but pays off in the end.
One tip: set up a sep. email at your domain *just* for links, it brings a TON of spam in.

I do now about what it is, however I do not know how to do that. My coach and I are due to address the subject really soon, and she id=s going to help me to learn it.

Thanks for the info about directory critic. I have been looking for legal directories to list my paralegal service in and had not heard of this resource. I looked at their list of niche directories and found a legal directory right away. As to how much time I spend, I had been setting aside a couple hours on Friday afternoons for the tedious prospect of doing key word searches to find sites to link with, but lately have been too busy having actual clients, lol. I need to start devoting the time again. I do notice an up tick in my web traffic when I put forth the effort to submit to directories and ask others to link back to me.

I have no idea about SEO for my site. I've done some webinars, etc. but haven't had the chance to implement what I've learned yet. I think this is one of those things I'm going to have to put in the budget to have someone else manage for me. I met someone at a recent networking event that does this as his business. I'm hoping that I can barter and help him with something so that he can do this for me.

I am currently in the process of trying to figure the whole SEO thing out myself at the moment and whilst interesting, it can be confusing as there is so much information out there to absorb. In the new year I am considering having a professional company set this up for me and hopefully be able to teach me from there.

I spend so much time placing my adds with links to my website, wherever I can on the internet. My company name now regularly comes up on the first page of Google which is so exciting for me to see. However, I am still trying to find clients, but eventually they must come.

I'm lucky to have some free credits from a local online adv. blast site and promote my website by that way.
But I'm thinking to start offline promotion starting this year
