<h1> is an html tag for the heading and is only visible in the coding itself. You may still see your heading show up on your web site, but it's telling you that you are missing the tag for the heading. If you can, go into your html coding and find your heading (most likely your title, without having seen your web site) and add <h1>Your heading text here</h1> What is your www.? I can look at your code and tell you right where you are missing the tag. DAwn

No H1 text
Some images don't have descriptions
Page is large (35k)
It said the images should have Alt tags, I read about this somewhere, I guess I need to look into it again. I've also read about H1 text but not sure how to go about that either. Can any of you web guru's give me a quickie on this? It says the page is large but it also said in the report it loaded fast so I'm just going to leave it as is for now.

All your images should have an "alt" tag, which coding looks like this for my logo <img src="images/logo2.jpg" alt="Virtual Assistant Paralegal Services" width="760" height="200" /> so that the picture can be considered text to the search engines. Search engines don't read pictures so you need to make an alternative to the picture using important keywords for your site so the search engine sees text.

Re: Great Little Tool
I have three sites and they got 80%, 84% and 92%. Funny, because the 80% one gives me most of my business. The comment was the same on all three: "some images don't have descriptions". I'm fairly happy with these scores because web design is something I learned out of financial desperation because I could no longer pay $50 per item for site editing. I will see if giving my images descriptions helps. Once again I feel fortunate to have found this site and thank you so much for sharing this.

Re: Great Little Tool
This is a great little tool for watching your website, thanks. My website isn't up and running yet but as soon as it is I'll be able to watch it right from the beginning.
Thanks again.

Re: Great Little Tool
A good "alt" for an image would be a description of what that image is. For your company logo, you may give it an alt such as your company's name or even "logo"... this tag is for visually impaired people (or people who choose to surf the web with graphics turned off for faster loading).
Not sure what problems are being experienced with the H1 header tags.

Just put something like your business name or a 1-2 word description in between the quotes. Then upload the page and run the diagnostic again. It will tell you if you missed any. Be careful not to delete the quotes or the tag won't work and the diagnostic will say it still needs alt tags.
The one I can't figure out what to do with is the H1 thing. All of my headings and stuff are setup in my style sheet so I can't just go adding headings in the middle of my page. Any suggestions?

Re: Great Little Tool
Thank you so much for this little tool, I finished my site yesterday and its nice to see I've done some things right, lol, although it achieved 67%, there were a few things like no page description, no h1 tags (I'm not even sure what that means lol) and one out of five alt attributes, so I have some homework to do.
Thank you SupportMyOffice.

Re: Great Little Tool
Great tool! I just published a new website for my husband and it gave me a great picture of how it is doing. 90% (would never have thought my first website would be a little bit successful!)

Re: Great Little Tool
When I used this last year I only got 71%. Since then, I've revamped my entire site so I just tried again and scored 100%! Woo hoo - 2009, bring it on!

Re: Great Little Tool
I got a score of 15/24... with this being the first time I actually looked into SEO and optimization I have NO clue what that means. I see that the pictures are supposed to have descriptions.. I need to look into that. What I thought was funny is it said my site was not small :? Its really small and has barely any content yet.. oh well, this is a great tool, I have book marked it and will use it. thanks
