Default Google -- I'm Feeling Lucky
Well, I was playing around with Google.com today with various search terms to see how my website ranks, when I decided to test out Google's "I'm Feeling Lucky" Button. I typed in my business name and instead of hitting the search button, I hit the "I'm Feeling Lucky Button". To my happy surprise, I was immediately taken to my Wordpress VA blog.

Anyone else try this and if so, were your results what you were expecting?

How much does SEO play into it when it comes to the "I'm Feeling Lucky" feature on Google?

I didn't even know there was an "I'm feeling lucky feature on google". I'll have to go look for it.

For some reason, the I'm Feeling Lucky Button doesn't always show up depending on the Google page you are on.

The 'I'm feeling lucky' brings up the most relevant result (according to various Google algorithms)

Blogs tend to have a hgh keyword density simply because it's an online diary - the more you write, and include keywords, the more easily you rank - SO - with that said...to a nice degree your blog *does* rank well for SEO! Congrats! That must have been a lot of fun to see.

To follow this up - here's the info from Google on the feature:

"The "I'm Feeling Lucky™" button takes you directly to the first web page Google returned for your query. You will not see the other search results at all. An "I'm Feeling Lucky" search means you spend less time searching for web pages and more time looking at them.
For example, to find the homepage for Stanford University, simply enter Stanford into the search field and click on the "I'm Feeling Lucky" button. Google takes you directly to "www.stanford.edu", the official homepage of Stanford University. "

I hit a Microsoft Support page. Go figure. I wonder if it is because I have been blogging and giving the Vista SP1 upgrade a bad rap.

Lisa, that page on Microsoft is about when you want to give access to your computer, to a person from another computer.
I can see that your are result number 3 though, Microsoft will be very tough to pass but it's possible
