Default Does having numbers in your domain name affect SEO?
Does anyone know if having numbers at the beginning of your domain name (ie. 1HardworkingVA.com versus HardworkingVA.com) makes a difference in regards to SEO? Had someone ask me this, and I don't think it matters but wanted to check in with the experts here.

Hmmmm...it's not so much about SEO there as it is about ease of communication - when you think about how we offer up our domain names to potential clients...how to get around the "it's the number 4 not the word 'four'" explanation every time?

But with your example in mind, it's actually not necessarily a *bad* thing, in terms of SEO...and it would turn up first in any alphabetical search returns.

Your example should not pose a problem for SEO.
If you are that worried about it could you use one instead of 1 or better yet register both domains?

The impact of keywords in your domain is negligible - I have a site with the number 4 in it instead of "for" and I rank in the top 10. That's pretty good proof. <grin>
