Copy the code EXACTLY as it appears, substituting your own image URL and tag content:

Here's how:
Get into your website code or template and wherever you see
<img src="www.yourimagelocationaddr ess.com">
add this little bit of info to the code alt="ENTER DESCRIPTIVE TAG HERE"
so it looks like this instead:

<img src="www.yourimagelocationaddr ess.com" alt="ENTER DESCRIPTIVE TAG HERE" />

I still add alt tags to all my images (or whatever the heck you want to call them LOL) - and I've heard from some that meta tags are no longer weight heavily by the search engines but I still add them too. Even a little tiny edge works for me!

Pam, you're absolutely right that meta tags don't really get much weight any longer but they're still worth doing, so it's good that you've included them in your backend SEO work

Ultimately, it's content that makes the biggest difference - and properly presented content at that. That's why image tags (whatever we call them ) can be so helpful - they're an added bit of text where the search engines would otherwise see nothing.

Would this same code work for my Microsoft Office Live Small Business website? I have been told that I cannot do it on MS Office Live - except trying it out in the footer. I am open for suggestions if anyone has any to share. Thank you.

Diann, I was looking up the same thing when I was doing my site, but could not find any way of doing it. I was thinking of having it with the image before I upload it to the gallery, but have not tried to do it yet, don't know if it's even possible.

If this is so, what can we do to get our sites noticed by the search engines? (Other than add alt tags to images, lol)
