Default Filters can’t catch everything - TargetStars Blog

If you are like me, I am sure you have not been able to go a day without receiving junk email. They often begin with informing you that you have won some foreign sweepstakes you never entered and can’t collect your prize unless you reply back with your name, phone number, social security number (can’t forget to send them that precious piece of information!), etc. The rest of the junk email you receive is regarding companies or individuals pitching crazy products or services that are supposed to “help” you. However, I think these scam artists are becoming more “creative” with the junk email they send. Take a look at the following email I received:

Subject: Hiring a new VA

Hello!

My company is looking to hire a new virtual assistant.

Their main function would be a content writer to write web content and eBooks. Ideally we’d like to build a long-term relationship with a copy writer. If you’re a very good English writer, you are loyal, and you communicate well please send us your resume! If you understand blogging, article marketing, sales letters, and eBooks you will have an advantage over your competition. All of your articles will be written in English with proper grammar and spelling. We need a reputable person who is trustworthy and does not plagiarize. We will obviously check the quality and originality of your work. If you can write high quality, informative, and interesting content this is the job... Great post LaTosha - it seems these kinds of 'criminals' only get more creative and adapt to all of the filters and screens we put in place. Sometimes, you just have to rely on your gut instinct.
