Default Email Received but has all signs of spam...

I received the below email from a company stating I applied to their company which I did not. They are requesting I accept payments from their clients and cash them in "my" bank account then proceed to give them the funds. I wanted to post this in case others have received this and if not to be very cautious. Not only are they asking to have funds deposit into my personal account they are also requesting enough information that would allow them to identity theft and possibly obtain additional funds from personal bank accounts. I have sent this to the Attorney General here in WA.

Thanks for sharing this. Anytime I see anything mentioning needing to use my bank account to transfer money back and forth, I delete it. We just had a news story last week about a gal who was taking care of shipping things for someone and, come to found out, she had been shipping stolen items for what is believed to be the Russian mafia! You just can't be too careful these days.

It's a scam, not spam, and it's very obvious.

This certainly is a scam. This kind of thing has been going around for some time. I remember my boss receiving letters from so-called government officials trying to get family members out of the country, usually African dictator lead countries, but first they had to get the $millions out of the country, so the family member/s could live comfortably once they escaped.
They requested bank details and the recipient, of the letter, would be given a percentage of the total amount lodged in his account. This was as far back as '90s. I do not know anyone that fell for it at the time.

But with the advent of the internet this sort of thing is much more prevalent. So we all have to be on the look out.

Thanks for posting this, LoriLee.

I get about 3 of these a week...not exactly the same, but close. The scary thing is people actually fall for it...from what I have read, it is predominately the elderly. What a horrible thing to do to someone!
I do have a question though...I often report these folks as spam, but what really happens with that? Anything?
