Hi Lori, I just sent you a PM! Hope it helps. I loved the course and the ability to try the products that they are promoting within the course.

Nancy -

Can you share a bit more about your experiences? I am also thinking about taking the course but wasn't sure how beneficial it would be. Is it geared more for newbies? I've been around awhile so wasn't sure if I would learn anything new or not. Thanks!

I took and completed the Real Estate Webographer course last year. It has some good points and not so good points. But it sure is growing.
I really think the Webographer course is probably best for some that are new to the real estate field or who need to brush up on what is available online real estate programs. I have encouraged my newbie REVA friends to this course a few times now. It gives a great overview of different products and services available for real estate technology that new people might not be aware of.

For some people that have been involved in the real estate industry for a long time, they might find the course "elementary" or boring. I found that on some modules, I skipped right over things and took the tests because I found some of the material to be easy, or nothing new to me.

I also was not crazy about the Virtual Assistant module they had in there, as it heavily promoted Team Double Click as the only game in town. Though that may have changed since I completed it as I sent in a complaint about that part.

But some good things about it...
It does give you access to try out some of the vendors involved by giving you demo logins or trial accounts. They are also very supportive and quick to answer any questions or issues you have with the system.

Once I passed, I got great promotion of my website and blog through the press that they put out. Have I got new business because of it? I think I had 1 or 2 prospects that it piqued their curiosity, but that's about it.

But I do think the Webographer course is great for newbie VAs looking to become a REVA and want a little experience and a certification to stand on.

Hope that helps!

Thanks for your thoughts Megan! I'll review the course and consider taking it. I think it will go well with my license and make me more marketable to realtors. I had a meeting with a realtor last week and he was happy about my license but concerned that I didn't have enough experience. I need to find that realtor client who is willing to learn and grow along with me!

I really don't know a great deal about Real Estate, but I do know that where I live there are an awful lot of signs advertising houses for sale.

Would this Webographer course give me enough information to approach potential Real Estate agents and sound like I know what I am doing?

Thanks for your input Megan! I'll add this to my list of things to do, but won't make it a priority as I do have a couple years of experience already. The certification would be nice though! Appreciate you taking the time to share your experience!

You're very welcome. Having your license is good (but not necessary) because it shows you know the legal aspects of the real estate process and the basic principals of selling real estate. But what the licensing courses do not teach you is what is involved in the "behind the scenes", successful marketing tactics, or important programs and technologies used in real estate. There is not always a course for that stuff, experience is the best teacher. But the Webographer course is a great start.

A basic understanding of the real estate industry is probably helpful before you decide to jump in and take the Webographers course. It does teach you about various technologies and common programs used by real estate professionals, but if you don't know much about why they are needed, it might not be of much use to you.

If you are really serious about setting up your VA business to serve the real estate niche, but you don't know much about real estate, you should look into taking the National Association of Realtors' REPA course. It covers the legalities and basic real estate principals that are very helpful for real estate assistants to know. Especially good to take if you are totally new to real estate. I personally haven't taken it (I have my RE license so no need) but one of my associate VAs has taken it when she first started out and learned a great deal.
