Default REVA for more than one Real Estate Client?
Hello. I've been scanning the forums lately, and as I was sitting at my Business Networking Meeting this past Thursday, something I hadn't thought about. So was wondering if anyone on here could help!

When marketing your services as a Real Estate Virtual Assistant in your area, do you ONLY work for one agent? You see I was wondering if there could be a conflict if you were contracting with more than one agent, from different or the same office / brokerages? Being I am a licensed Real Estate agent myself, I could see where this might be a problem. After all, all real estate agents, even ones in the same office, are competing for the same clients?

How do other REVAs out there do it? Thanks for the feedback!

I have 2 agents in the same market and don't have any issues with it. I don't mention them to each other and I don't discuss what each of them is doing, nor have they asked me. They work in different offices, but they honestly are doing 2 completely different things with their marketing and everything. With so many personalizing with the new "lifestyle branding" it just hasn't been an issue.
I know sometimes agents don't want to work with the same REVA as someone in their office, but I haven't crossed that bridge

Thanks Serita. I was just wondering how others handled this? I guess you are correct in that each client is confidential and I wouldn't be sharing my clients info with each other anyway! Thanks for helping me with this. Have a great week.

What are the services that you are offering to the agents? Are you also licensed? and if not do you find that to be an issue when working with the agents?

Yes I do currently have a brokers license, but it is being held with one office, while I have agents at other brokerages. Mostly I have been doing marketing stuff like open house flyers, listing flyers, postcards, mailers, labels, forms, things like this. However, I plan on putting my brokers license in referral so I can save money on all the fees that are incurred for just "being" a realtor!

Hi Tina,
Similar to Serita, I have worked (and currently work with) with agents in the same market area and have not run into any problems so far. Though there are some REVAs out thate that do not work with agents that are within the same office or market area as a policy. But as long as you handle it right, I do not see the problem.

I don't run into this very often because I don't really market locally and work with any agents local to me. But I have had cases where my clients refer me around to their colleagues in their office or area. If my clients send me a referral, then I pretty much know that they're fine with it. And when I start working with an new agent, I don't intentionally seek out new clients from their own office or market area.
In the case that someone approaches me from the same office or market area as one of my clients, I work with a policy of complete transparency and confidentiality. I let them know from the get-go that I am working with agents in their office/market so it is out in the open. But I also reassure them that I will never share or divulge their business, personal or otherwise confidential information with any other agents. I stick to my word and never let one know what the other is doing, even if they ask. I stand behind my ethics and integrity, and have not had a problem thus far. So even though it can be tricky, it is possible.
Good luck!!

I have my real estate license and work for a large company doing their internet marketing. I don't really promote my real estate business much, instead focusing on VA. I wouldn't go after another large firm in the same market because its definitely a conflict of interest but I am now starting to go after individual agents. They come to me anyway for advice so I've decided to start charging.

Most of the work does not require a licence but if you are to assist with the REO and BPOs then you need a licence.

I am a licensed agent and work with several agents within my company as well as outside of the company doing marketing material and the like. I do not discuse other agents business. If they don't feel there is a conflict then neither do I. If I can help them sell there listings, we all win!

I'm also licensed RE and at first did meet some obstacles with local agents however, business is booming and they have learned that I'm a valuable team member. I have 6 local agents from different companies and no issues. My business is now mostly by referral thanks to my current clients!

Make it a Great day!
