Default Production Sheet
Have any of you been asked to provide a production sheet for any of your RE clients? I have a broker that has asked me to design a production sheet for his agency. He is going to show me an example, but I was trying to be one step ahead and have a little advanced knowledge.

Thank you all in advance!

Tracey, are you working with the broker (doing "brokerish" things) or are you working with his agents?

My immediate thought is: I don't do production sheets. I'm not his employee. He can't make me But, I've been pushed around by clients too many times, and I'm a bit cynical and very picky.

My second thought is: I don't do production sheets, but they might make my job a bit easier since it's a system that's already in place. I'll see what it is and make an informed decision, after all, I am a business owner, not an employee.

To my knowledge, a production sheet is what is used when an actual good (not a service) is being produced. I've yet to see it used by any of my client, or in either of my dh's offices (both mortgage and RE).

Good luck, and congrats on the client!

Would it be similar to a flow chart of his production layout?

I agree with Balancing Act I have only ever known production sheets to be used for tangible goods not services.

If it is the "Broker" I am thinking he is looking for a way to assess his team of agents and what they are producing. Does that sound about right? If it is an agent, then they are trying to find out what their production is? Does that sound about right?

Broker:
Name of agent
Number of listings: Current, Last Month, Past 6 months
Number of sales: Current, Last Month, Past 6 months
Agent Average Sales over the past 6 months, 1 year: Add all sales and divide by the number of sales: Example- Joe sold 3 listing- listing 1 20,000.00, listing 2 144,500.00, listing 3 2,000,000.00 total sales: $2,164,500.00 / 3 = $721500.00 Average Sales.
Number of listings Land Only
Number of listings Residential
Number of listings Commercial

Let me know if this is what you were looking for or if your client has something different in mind.

Andrea~

I Know nothing about the Real Estate business but looking at Andrea's post I am thinking...Pivot table. Then you could Pivot on Brokers Name for individual production sheets or give data across the board...

Yeah, but you can pull that information from the MLS. Why be redundant?

You can pull the info but you can't get an average of sales. So, I am thinking he will provide her with the information and have her set up an assessment sheet to see the average sales per agent. If it is an agent then the agent will learn their own average sales.

Maybe she will come back and let us know roflmbo

Andrea is dead on. I had to do this for a couple of my agents. It's a basic spreadsheet and you enter data of what each agent has sold and what they have listed for the year. Brokers like to have this info and ask there agents to have this done and turn it in to the main office by a due date. Some agents do this to keep records of what they have done at a glance and are able to see what months they are more productive.

Andrea you're funny! I've never heard of ROFLMBO until now but I'm going to use it now!
LOL!

Remember that there are two sides to some transactions, the selling side and the listing side. Agents rarely get paid commission on both sides - usually an agent from another brokerage brings a buyer so it's split. Usually with a top producing agent, you will see more sales where they were on both sides since they have more exposure. So when you figure production you have to account for any transactions they sold themselves without a split. It can get very complicated to run these production reports by hand.
